Cobham Area Foodbank – Summer update

Dear Friends, Donors, Supporters, and Volunteers,

As we enjoy the summer months, we’d like to take a moment to thank you for your unwavering support. Cobham Area Foodbank has now been running for almost 12 years, and we’re incredibly grateful to every single one of you who has helped us provide vital support to individuals and families facing crisis.

Since April 2024, at the start of the financial year, Cobham Area Foodbank has provided food for 2,135 people in our community – 1,335 adults and 800 children. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we received 29,006 kg of food through various donation points and distributed 30,431 kg during this period.

💚

Thank you to our volunteers and supporters

We’re so lucky to have a dedicated team of cheerful, flexible volunteers who work tirelessly to sort, pack, and deliver food throughout the year. You are the backbone of our work — thank you!

We also extend our thanks to local referral agencies such as Cobham Centre for the Community, PA Housing, Oasis, Esher Citizens Advice Bureau, Weybridge Job Centre Plus, and many others. You play a vital role in identifying those in crisis and helping them access the support they need.

Celebrating support from Squires Garden Centre, Cobham

We’ve been proud to be chosen as Squires Garden Centres Cobham’s Charity of the Year for the past two years, and as this partnership comes to a close, we want to express our heartfelt thanks to the Squires team and their wonderful customers for their generous and continued support.

Together, we’ve:

  • Created Spring and Autumn charity planters
  • Enjoyed a festive Christmas Shopping Evening
  • Benefited from a Charity Coffee Morning just this week, where a portion of every drink was donated to the Foodbank

✨ A Fresh New Look!

The eagle eyed amongst you may have noticed we have had a brand refresh here on our website and brand new logo on our social media channels. This comes as part of Trussell’s (formerly Trussell Trust) initiative to unify foodbanks under a more modern, accessible brand — helping to raise awareness and reach more people in need. We’ll be gradually rolling out the new logo across our communications and hope you love the new look as much as we do!

Looking ahead – how you can help …

As we move through the summer, support tends to fall off but demand is still high.  Please, if you can, continue to donate essential items like:

  • 1L long-life fruit juice and milk
  • Tinned meats and tinned vegetables
  • Basic toiletries (toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo)

Community Events: Keep an eye out for future donation drives and seasonal events. We’ll share details soon!
