8th December 2023

The Cobham Area Foodbank has expressed its gratitude to the local community for their generous donations during the Harvest Festival collections. The foodbank received the highest level of donations to date, with almost 250 tonnes of emergency food supplies.

The donations came from local schools, churches, individuals and businesses who contributed much needed essential food and toiletries which will go towards supporting those in need in the local community.

Christiana van Roest, Trustee and General Manager at Cobham Area Foodbank, said: “We are overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of our community. The Harvest Festival donations have made a huge difference to the lives of many people in crisis. We are very grateful to everyone who supported us.”

Overview:

Cobham Area Foodbank is a project founded by local community groups, working together to stop hunger in the local area.  Since it opened in December 2013, it has provided over 4,191 individuals with a week’s emergency food supplies. Of that number approximately 42% were children.

The foodbank relies on public donations of non-perishable, in-date food.  It also needs donations to help with the operational costs.  To find out how to get help or get involved click here.
